Tim is an
accounting professional working at a worldwide certified
accounting firm. Recently returned from the U.S., Tim is
passionate to serve God through working with, coaching and
playing with children.
Since its early
stages in development, the orphanage ministryˇ¦s short term goal
has been to provide orphans at Yi Kuang with big brothers and
sisters from Grace Baptist, along with the long term goal of
planting seeds in their hearts that they might one day get to
know Christ as their personal friend, Lord, and Savior. It was
quickly discovered that becoming a childˇ¦s big brother or
sister, and introducing them to Christ first requires the
establishment of friendship and trust. Itˇ¦s been said that
ˇ§kids will never care how much you know until they know how much
you care.ˇ¨ Throughout its stages in development over the past
year, the orphanage ministry volunteers have done their best to
show this love and care to the kids at Yi Kuang via Bible
lessons, group prayers, singing songs, bike trips, educational
tutoring, special holiday activities, and most importantly just
spending time with them in an effort to know and better
understand their personalities. Over the past year the
volunteers have been able to witness first hand a dramatic
change in the kids as theyˇ¦ve opened up, grown, and matured.
Not only have the volunteers had the opportunity to witness this
growth in the kids, but they have also had the opportunity to
learn from the orphans about what it is to grow up without a
stable family structure and the scary nature of knowing that you
must enter the world of adulthood without a familyˇ¦s support.
It has become the volunteersˇ¦ hope and prayer that through their
visits to Yi Kuang they, as big brothers and sisters, might be
able to better equip the kids for this entrance into adulthood
by helping them establish a solid relationship with Christ.
