"2009!
What is hidden behind the curtain for you?"
Emphasis for January
No,
we are not going to a fortune teller to try to see what God will do
in your life during the coming year. It is far better for us to walk
by faith.
Remember, Abraham walked by faith. What happened to him? He
discovered that he was not walking alone. He traveled to different
countries. But, there was no place where he was alone. Whether in
the valleys or on the mountain tops, He was not alone. ˇ§And the
scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was
credited to him as righteousness,ˇ¨ and he was called God's friendˇ¨
(James 2:23, NIV).
We
do have some events we believe will happen. One will be our second
mission trip to Dalsingpara, West Bengal, India. Pastor Zulu Walling
is the pastor of the local church there. He is making many of the
arrangements for our traveling team. Pastor Kunsang Chhophel is
General Secretary of Himalayans for Christ and is working on many of
the general arrangements. These two men of God serve the Lord and
the churches of that entire area. They are a constant blessing to
the people and to us as well.
We
believe that during 2009, our small group ministry will flourish and
grow. It is within reason that we could add several more groups and
add to the number of participants. When we add to this our faith in
God, He can multiply what we have now.
The
highlight for March will be the Missions Fair. The purpose for this
event is to inform and inspire all our members to catch the vision
of one or more of our various ministries, so that we can double or
triple the number of church members participating in our church
mission actives.
April brings us to our observation of Easter, or if you prefer,
Resurrection Sunday. This event, so well confirmed historically,
shows to the world that we donˇ¦t worship the bones of a saint, the
tooth of a great philosopher, or a shroud that covered some dead
body. No, we worship a risen, victorious King of kings.
Come with us on a pilgrimage of faith, as we begin the new year of
2009.
